Hi Jon, Although @James Gurney and Thomas Kinkade had a history of using patches on unofficial, matching uniforms, I believe the “Department of Art” patch is more specifically tied to James, and yes, you are correct, it’s one of those patches. In fact I named the piece for it! I have three of these patches in total, well two, as I gave one to a good friend. From “Gurney Journey” blog, “The Department of Art is the name for me, my wife, and a few painting buddies of ours. One of our blog compatriots, Steve, generously contributed a supply of embroidered patches. Sometimes we use the patches for special prizes. We made matching uniforms with our names and patches so that we look official when we're street painting.
